Hi,
I'm a Gamer/College Student and I think I'm gonna buy my T61P this week. I don't know which warranty I should get :S. What do you think is the best ?? The basic warranty ??

I would recommend the basic warranty; I would have recommended a 3-year one for any other brand, but its a ThinkPad.

I'm glad mine has the 3 year warranty. If I had the base warranty, I would have had to pay out of pocket for 2 motherboards. However, if you plan on doing upgrades (cpu, memory) that might void any warranty.

So I should go for the basic warranty ?? How many Lenovo Laptop (%) break ?? Do you know ??

anyone else opinion ??

I'd recommend accidental damage protection for as long as you plan on owning the notebook. I work part-time in tech support for my college, and notebooks seem to take a beating in a college environment. Anything you can imagine happening to a notebook I've probably seen.

A friend of mine had their notebook on the top bunk, sneezed, and sent it flying off the bed...
Oof.
I got the 3yr + accidental warranty just in case I get a cold = ) -

I purchased the three year extended warranty since that is as long as I plan on owning the laptop before I upgrade unless I come into some money or a job that pays for a new one. My renters insurance has accidental insurance on eletronics included.

It seems that the general guideline, and my person opinion is that the warranty should not be more than 20% of the cost of your laptop itself. However, I highly recommend accidental protection. Who knows?
Here's a warranty guide.
EDIT: At first I wrote "There's a warranty guide on these forums. I'll try to have a search for you." But the words 'warranty guide' just became a link and linked to it automatically!
What Warranty Should I get ??
