    My T60 is nearly silent. I'm very particular about annoying noise eminating from my notebook. The fan does run but it is not annoying at all. I've owned a T40, T41, T42, and now the T60. The T60 is the most quiet of the bunch. You can also d/l a fan control program which will allow you more finite control of the fan.

    I'm very particular about annoying noise eminating from my notebook too. There is not a lot of T60P test on the web, and it's difficult to know its noisy level.

    I'm a litlle bit disappointed the fan run often. I dream of a fanless TP ;)
