    What are the odds of recieiving an x61 by 8/27?

    If I order today that is...

    I realize I am a little late in the game on this but I'm just now getting familiarized with the Lenavo delays and customer service issues relating to new orders.

    These problems alone are making me second guess my choice but the x61 seems like a perfect setup for using in classes and the library. I'll need it preinstalled with XP as the university test software isn't yet compatible with Vista last I was told.

    lenovo has been better about shipping the X-Series, just don't order a T61p, then you'll be waiting.

    Estimated Shipping Dates seem to be holding steady at an average of 14 days from date of order based on posts here and at thinkpads.com.

    By the 27th? Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya? :)

    I ordered my x61 on 8/1 and it showed an estimated ship date of 8/20. It was shipped yesterday and I just received it this morning. I'm happy. :)

    I ordered my x61s originally on 6/27 received the laptop on 7/20, but the laptop had a dead pixel. Re-ordered the replacement X61s on 7/25 and now I just checked the status and the ship date is 8/30…this makes no sense. For the past few weeks the ship date was 8/11 and today the ship date was changed to 8/30. I am about ready to cancel the order and go with a Dell.
