    Hi all,

I recently bought a Thinkpad T410, but I will be moving soon and I wont be able to take the original packaging with me - I'll only be taking the laptop. The machine has a 3-year warranty, so I want to make sure I don't make it impossible to get warranty service in the future. My question is simple: do I need the original packaging if I have to mail my laptop to the depot for warranty service?

Looking at the documents on Lenovo's website it seems like they send you a container in which to put the laptop when sending it in. Will I suffer any ill effects by leaving the original packaging behind when I move? Comments from those who have experience with the depot mail-in procedures would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

No you don't need the original packaging. For pick up and return to base warranty type, where lenovo warranty organize the courier pick up, they will be responsible for packaging.
