Just looking for suggestions for LCD/Matte screen cleaners. In the past I used a soft cotton shirt damp with plain water. It does an OK job but i'm wondering if anyone uses a product that's safe and easy to use that does not leave haze, smears or smudges and most important does not damage the screen.

I use the lens cloth that comes with my glasses. I don't really use any liquids as I keep my screens at least around a foot and a half away from me so they don't get anything but dust on them, and a wipe cleans all of that off.

I just use some Isopropyl Alcohol with a lint free cloth to wipe the screen clean. The Isopropyl Alcohol generally dries itself up after application so it doesn't leave much residue behind.

For many years I have been using a damp cloth with a hint of liquid detergent and have no plan to change this method. First the screen, then the keyboard and palmrest and finally the display cover.

I never touch my screen, so I don't need to use any cleaning liquids other than just breathing some warm air and wiping with a clean microfiber cloth. Glasses lens cloth works well too (be sure to clean the cloth every once in a while by washing in warm water with soap and letting it air dry).

Mist very lightly with water, wipe with a microfiber cloth.

I generally use clean, soft cotton cloth damp, like a t-shirt, dampened with water. If the screen is bad, I use window cleaner lightly sprayed on the cloth.

After 4 years of being cleaned every other day, I can't see any wear on the screen.

Use a water and alcohol mixture ~60/40 mixture. If there is too much alcohol, it will leave white streak. And if there is too much water, it takes forever to dry.

I can tell you to NOT use wood cleaner. My mother-in-law used it to clean all of our electronics and my 47" Toshiba HDTV still has streaks on it 1/2 year later.

Thanks ! I guess cleaning the screen with one of these is not a good idea either? :D

You typically want to avoid any cleaner with harsh chemical such as ammonia found in windex, or almost any other glass cleaner.
