    Hi - I'm trying to find a lightweight laptop with good graphics, I was looking at 14" T60s, but they all seem to have poor graphics.

    Then I looked at the weight compared to the 15" model, and the results are strange: (this is from the Australian site, btw)
    14":
    Weight[2] 2.317 Kgs
    Travel weight 2.12 Kgs
    Height 25.4 mm
    Depth 255 mm
    Width 311 mm

    15":
    Weight[2] 2.811 Kgs
    Travel weight 2.14 Kgs
    Height 25.4 mm
    Depth 255 mm
    Width 311 mm

    What the? The 15" model is listed at exactly the same width and height, and only 200g more, if the "travel weight" means anything. The footnote [2] against Weight says:
    "2. Includes battery and optional travel bezel instead of standard optical drive in Ultrabay™ modular bay, if applicable; weight may vary due to vendor components, manufacturing process and options."

    Does this footnote apply to the weight (as it is shown) or the Travel weight? And is the 15" T60 exactly the same size as the 14"??? Or are these pages broken (which seems more likely)

    Travel weight basically means without removeable media drive.

    That basically means that the removable media drive weighs 670 grams (1.48 lbs) - this still seems unlikely. I'm guessing it's a mistake - stats elsewhere seem to give a much higher weight than this.

    15"

    Height 1.2 in
    Depth 10.5 in
    Width 13.0 in

    14.1"

    Height 1.0 in
    Depth 10.0 in
    Width 12.2 in

    according to the US site. were you comparing a 14" with a 9 cell battery to a 15" with a 6 cell? that might account for similar weight.

    From checking the US specs, I think the Australian site is just plain wrong on all the 15" stats except the full weight.

    Translating the us figures to metric, I get:
    15":
    Weight 6.25 lbs == 2.81 kg
    Height 1.2 in == 3.05cm
    Depth 10.5 in == 26.7cm
    Width 13.0 in == 33cm
    Travel weight 5.82 lbs == 2.64 kg
    14":
    Weight[2] 5.12 lbs == 2.32 kg
    Height 1.0 in == 2.54cm
    Depth 10.0 in == 25.4cm
    Width 12.2 in == 31cm
    Travel weight 4.69 lbs == 2.13 kg

    Travel weight is weight without any accessories.

    If the laptop has a fixed bay, it includes the optical drive, but otherwise, it includes a small piece of plastic that fits in the bay.

    For battery, IIRC, it includes the standard battery for that model (so if the laptop ships with a 9-cell, IIRC, it is included in the travel weight - don't quote me on that, though.)

    It does NOT include the power adaptor, however.

    remember, lenovo pretty much has a different model number for any hardware combination they offer, i.e. 2 units that differ only by the addition of a stick of RAM to the second slot probably have different model numbers. So if you want a direct comparison, make sure the specs are matched. though the battery is the only thing I can imagine causing a large difference for a single chassis (14 or 15).

    previous 14" T series were offered with the FireGL graphics, though possibly only in p models.
