So I stumbled upon a crazy deal locally for a T420s. Didn't really need it, but I had to buy it since I'm missing the T520 FHD I sold. I have an X230 w/IPS but find myself cramped with it's resolution at times, so an HD+ screen at the asking price ($400) was a no-brainier. The quality of the display leaves a ton to be desired (read: it's pretty bad) but I can deal with it. The machine itself looks unused, has 4 charge cycles and has a warranty until 6/2014! Ok, enough gloating.

I put a fresh install of Win8 Pro on it last night. Running an SSD. I have all updates installed, both from Microsoft and Lenovo and have one item on my device manager that's unrecognized. Any idea what this is or what driver I need?

    Thanks.

It could be an WWAN card - Ericsson F5521gw or Gobi3000 - this is my supposition. So, you have paid 400$ for a new T420s?! Fantastic price.
