I am getting a little miffed with the drag from NIS and it's (or my) seeming inabilty to handle public wireless connections at the local library. I will probably give NOD32 a try for AV, but am looking for an intelligent, small footprint firewall. Any suggestions?

Personally use the free version of ZoneAlarm. Works good for the basic stuff.

ZoneAlarm's bad about digging hooks deep within Windows.

Also, if you game at all, ZoneAlarm's notification system is ANNOYING.

Personally, I use Sygate Personal Firewall. It's also free :D

Glad to see you're jumping the Norton ship, though :D

Never had a problem with it. I don't find Zone's alert system any more annoying than others. Sygate works good too. Used that for a while.
