Today I was trying to display my screen onto a projector via standard VGA cable. It didn't work, but this is not what this post is about.

Since it didn't work, I tried toggling some settings under the F7 option. Those with a recent Thinkpad will recognize the menu that comes up when you hit Fn+F7, it's a Thinkvantage menu which allows you to choose between screen, projector, screen+projector, ABC-array, etc. Since the output wasn't working, I tried turning off this menu through an option at the bottom. Unfortunately I am unable to tell you what this option said exactly because - and here is the problem - I can't bring up the menu any more.

Anyone know how to get the default Thinkvantage F7 menu back?

When I go to Thinkvantage>Device Configuration>Select display settings, nothing comes up. Nothing at all. Thinkpad model in sig.

If you are using Window 7 you can use the shortcut win+p.
