I went to go order a T61 and it won't let me select the turbo memory now. Is there a reason?

And for some lame reason you have to choose anything besides the BASE 512MB. I mean wtf is that? Talk about forcing you to upgrade.

You must order 1GB of ram. Currently, lenovo is using 512mb as the base option which prevents the Intel Turbo memory option.

HP has decided to not offer the Turbo memory option at all. They indicate that their testing shows very little improvement in performance and the customer is much better off adding additional ram. Could be they just want their customers to "buy more of their outrageously priced ram" instead.

There is no technical reason why this is so. This is purely a ploy to generate more sales by having the customers bump up the RAM. The only legitimate reason is that of the WWAN card taking up the same spot as the Robson flash card.
