I could be possible, if the cables are the same, but I think there are some problems aeside the cable:
    - 8 or 10 Bit IPS?
    - Its glossy
    - It is glued with this glass front
    - You have to remove the multitouch-layer

Since Dell hasn't officially released the XPS 12 yet, there is no way getting more information on the Panel. The X220 IPS Screen can be planted into the 12,5" Dell (I don't know its exact name, you should know which one I mean) there is a slight chance Dell and Lenovo use the same cables.

Colors are very similar to the X220/30, so I'm guessing 8 bit.

Glossy is not a problem, you get 400 NITS and the Reviewer stated it can be read outdoors. I don't care if it's glossy, FHD and IPS is all I want. It might be a deal breaker for some X220/30 users but hey, just stick to your 1366x768 Panel if you like it so much.

Regarding that "glued with the glass front" problem: Once the Panel starts getting stocked by resellers on eBay or whatever it might be the Display only. The iPad Display is available without the glass as well.

I'm not sure how difficult it is to remove the Multitouch layer though. I'm certain someone has done this before and will be able to share his/her experiences.

You can take a razor blade then cut between the glass and the LCD. You do have to be careful not to break the glass.

Well, the XPS 12 is out, you can buy it, if anyone feels they like have to much money in their pocket I'm sure they'd be doing as all a favor by testing if this works.
