I am looking at a new T530. Regarding pointing device, there are two options:

    UltraNav with Fingerprint Reader

UltraNav with Fingerprint Reader for Color Sensor, Smart Card

What is "Fingerprint Reader for Color Sensor, Smart Card" ?

    Thanks!

    Kaso, thanks for your info!

What is "color-sensor bezel" for ?

Is this "smart-card slot" different from "System Expansion Slots: Express Card Slot & 4-in-1 Card Reader"? It is very useful?

    Regards.

Lenovo "cheats" so that the same palmrest assembly can also be used for the W530 where the "color sensor" option is available.

Smartcard is completely different from the "Express Card Slot & 4-in-1 Card Reader." Smartcards are used in security-sensitive office environments to gain access to notebooks (and other things, depending on the "entitlement" level) -- not applicable to people like you and me.

On the other hand, the express-card slot and the multicard reader are very handy.

Kaso, thanks soooooo much for detailed info.

Just bought a new T530 (with UltraNav with Fingerprint Reader only). I did not plan to buy this. But after installing some new software for another project and feel my T510 is a bit slow.

    Have a good night/weekend!

    Cheers!
