As the topic says, I'd like to know what their return policy is. From what I gather, it should be 30 days with a 15% restocking fee, but this is only based on forum postings from mid-2008. I can't find the information anywhere on the Lenovo Canada web site.
The LCD panel installed in my T400s is so awful that I can't stand using it. I assume there is no getting around the restocking fee?
-
yes that is the correct policy, whether you pay the 15% stocking depends on whether you can convince lenovo customer support that the LCD quality is bad, and fixing it under warranty won't resolve your issue.
-
Thanks for the confirmation. Am I an idiot, or is it not listed anywhere on their site? I'm not quite sure how to go about the restocking fee thing, but I'll give them a call today or tomorrow. As far as I know, there's nothing actually wrong with the LCD, it just sucks. I do have the Toshiba/Matsua version that's supposed to be worse than the Samsung panel, but they're not going to swap that out under warranty.

i am not sure where it is listed, but this is the policy for Lenovo. Well if you build a case for it, then anything is possible.
-
Last I checked it was:
21 days and 15% -
Where do I check? I've been all over their web site with their own search and Google search.
-
If you make a fake order and get to the last checkout page, there's a tiny link to the "terms and conditions" that give the return policy as 30 days. I can't find this document anywhere on the rest of the site, and I can't even link to it, because it expires with the shopping session. Way to make it easy to find, Lenovo
"For a new Product that is unopened and still in it's sealed package, you may return it to Lenovo for any reason within 30 days of the date of invoice and obtain a refund or credit."
Unopened? Wuh? -
just call Lenovo customer support.
-
They were closed today "in observance of the holiday"
-
If you opened it, you'll most likely end up paying the 15% fees. Try to exchange it.
-
I was finally able to speak to someone today. They aren't really too fussy about the 30 day return period, especially with the holidays just past. The first sales person I spoke to actually suggested I call tech support first and open a ticket so they might be able to get the restocking fee waived. That was an awkward support call...
Anyhow, they put in the request to waive the fee, but I won't be able to find out if it's granted for who knows how long. I'm not too happy about paying $250 to learn just how low Lenovo is willing to sink in terms of screen quality. Lesson learned, I guess. -
I hope you got that in writing.
-
Of course not, this is Lenovo we're talking about. That would be too logical. "Wait a few days for an e-mail."
If they do try to pull a fast one, the next call is to Visa, but I'm not too worried. I did get names and note call times, of course.
What is Lenovo Canada's return policy?
