The mouse-over help tip says "Turbo Boost+ optimizes fan speed for the best processor performance". When I enable it, I somewhat notice an increase of the fan noise. However I do not notice obvious improvement of CPU performance. When I run LinX, I only get slightly better results of Gflops. When the temperature reaches 95C, the core speed is throttled down to 2.8GHz-2.9GHz anyway (2.7GHz is the default clock for i7-2620M).

That's all it does. It cranks the fan to the max speed (I believe the equivalent of speed 7 in TPFC).

Correct. It bumps the fan another 500 rpm.

I think it gives you another half multiplier on top of the Turbo or something.
