This is not a thread asking if I can call and ask for a price reduction on a current order when the price of a system has gone down. The system is in transit and scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.

I am asking what their written policy is when this happens?

I kind of feel like a beggar asking for a lower price after I placed my order and it has already shipped.

The price difference is $63.78 after tax ($58.65 before tax).

I ordered the system on July 30th! :eek2:

    My patience should be rewarded!

I suppose you could send it back and re-order. By the time you get your money back, it's not instantaneous, and ordered again, the price will have probably gone back up again. Plus you figure in the two months you won't have your laptop. That's worth $60 to me.

Well, I e-mailed the Lenovo customer service rep I have been dealing with and am waiting to hear back from him. I don't see their policy on their site anywhere.

My guess is I am probably out of luck. If I were to send it back, the shipping costs and 15% restocking fee would eat up the $60.00 savings. They probably know it is not to my advantage to ship it back.

Two things are probably in my favor:

1> I have not received the notebook yet.

2> I ordered the notebook on July 30th!

    Let's see what happens.

you ordered your laptop WHEN? holy crap. there must be a warehouse shortage in China or wherever! I ordered my y460 a week ago and my order is still "in process". Emailed a rep too and nothing yet. Called in and their call center is "out of service due to unforeseen causes" what is that? oh well...lenovo isn't usually this bad.right?

This isn't Star Trek, where everything is made by replicators. Things take time. A month and half isn't that bad. People used to wait six months or longer for ThinkPads back in the day.

On the bright side, I've received 2 week turnaround on the past three W510 orders. Guess it depends on what you order.

I thought you could go through checkout again using whatever coupons you used then save your price as a quote. Then ask a CSR/superior to price match it.
