    This is under the list of the custom factory install. What is TVT - Welcome Message Applet?

    Also, what is Maintenance Manager 3.0?

    I believe the welcome message applet is for your first login on startup of vista.

    Maintenance manager schedules 'system update' and backups IIRC.

    FWIW, I don't select either when doing a custom restore.

    TVT is something with ThinkVantage, not Vista.

    if it helps, i have both of those services (and quite a lot more) disabled and everything is fine.
