    Hi All,

The Thinklight color is ORANGE in my recently purchased R61e, .

But my all previous Thinkpad Laptops, the thinklight color was white. (White Bulb) (Including my current T60p).

Does all R61(x) has thinklight color orange?

    Thanks
    Sandy

The ThinlLight on mine is white. I haven't read the article on your link but I can't see how changing the color of the bulb will save any $(maybe a couple of cents).

Only some R61 models have white ThinkLights...

They were asked many times and that was their answer (you can read it):

On scale that Lenovo produces these machines a few cents multiplied by several hundred thousand or milllion is a lot of moola. ;)

I understand the economy of scale but in this case I don't even think you can save even the 2 cents and even if you can please remember that other costs like inventorying, parts selection on the assembly line etc would quickly offset minuscule savings like that, don't you think. Then again I read the link Dreamer posted and it seems to be Lenovo's stand so who am I to argue?

My 15.4 R61 has an orange light. I kind of like it better in the a pitch black. It would be great if it was switchable between white and orange.
