    L220x - REVIEW

I just purchased the L220x a few days ago and it is very nice indeed. The price is excellent considering if you want a non-TN panel you normally have to go to a 24" display (like the Dell 2408WFP) and they are considerably more expensive. 22" is plenty big enough for a desktop display IMO.

Lenovo also just announced a 24" LCD with LED backlighting: L2440x @ Engadget

While the L2440x has not been released yet and there are no specifications available that I can see, at $750 it is sure to be a non-TN panel. This should be one of the nicest displays on the market but that is pretty expensive!

There's nothing else on the market like the FlexView. Almost any notebook screen you buy will a downgrade in quality. If you're looking for a performance boost, maybe upgrading the CPU is worth a look, though the T2500 is still a very good CPU.

I guess I should have been more specific .I`m looking to buy another T60 or T61 for my wife .I`m just not sure what screens are good for movies. There are so many specifications.

    I`m looking at a T61 with a 14.1" TFT active matrix 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ) model 7658-18U .

My knowledge of laptops is low .But this model has a integrated media card (Intel GMA X3100).

How does this effect how it performs on playback of movies ?

Lenovo is in fact releasing two 24" monitors: one with a CCFL backlight and one with an LED backlight. I believe the LED 24" has an MSRP of $750 which makes it considerably more expensive than other 24" models on the market.

The text issue is quite exagerated IMO, but my opinion is just based on what I see on my own display. I do detect very slight text blurring but it is acceptable for me. Anyway, the OP wants the best Lenovo monitor for *movies* and I think that the L220x is by far the #1 choice in that regard.

Looks like the op just specified the need. But I am interested in the L220x too :).
