I'm doing a clean install of my T400, I'm arrived at the point to remove the hidden partition. I use Diskpart and a fresh install to do so.

    This guide tells me how:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=160044

However, I am not sure what my hidden partion is. I have three in Diskpart:

    Partition 1: 1500MB
    Partition 2: 222GB
    Partition 3: 10GB

    In windows I have:
    SW_Preload (C: ) 221 GB
    Lenovo (Q: ) 9,76 GB
    SERVICEV003 (S: ) 1,46 GB

So what is my hidden partition: Q or S?

(Mod: please repair my title: 'parition', thanks :)).

Well, since I'm stuck at this point I choose to override both Q and S to be sure the hidden partition will be deleted when I reallocate the space. I have to move on now.

Although I wonder if there is a hidden partition at all, I can see both Q and S in windows... By the way: I didn't burn recovery media so that's why there are three partitions instead of two...

    Edit:
only partition 3 (Q: )was succesfully 'removed', partition one couldn't be removed because it was nescessary for the system... So I think there is my answer...

    MAKE RECOVERY MEDIA!!!!

You never, know when you may need it.

For the record, S: is used for the Pre-boot environment.
Q: is the factory image itself.

I deleted Q: (after making recovery media), but kept S: (it was only about 1GB).
