Right below my fingerprint reader sometimes I hear a sound like a ball bouncing. I think it must be the HD? What is going on?

    Seagate 100GB 7200 rpm HD, isn't it?
    Normal for this drive.

Yes. It is. And it is extremely annoying.

My drive was doing the same thing, that kind of a dropping marble sound, in my previous machine.
    Didn't bother me much though.
The Seagate is extremely quiet otherwise. I've noticed one weird thing about it. There was a slight rotational vibration present when you rest your hand on the right palmrest.
My new machine has arrived with a drive of the same exact specs, only made by Hitachi.
It's more on a loud side in comparison to Seagate, but gets very high scores in benchmarks. No marble dropping sound and no rotational vibration either.
