My sister's shopping for a ThinkPad in China and encountered a model named "E40". It looks like a good deal, but I'd like to know some of the more specific specs the reseller might not know. However, I can't find any info on it online.
So, does anybody know if the name "E40" is just an alternate for some other name? Some sites seen to suggest that it might be the same thing as the Edge 14". Could this be true?
Thanks in advance,

The Thinkpad E40 is simply the Thinkpad Edge 14" model, more specifications can be found here. You might want to consider the main Thinkpad series (the T/W/X series).

Gee, way to hide your bias there... you don't even have a clue what he wants, and you make a suggestion away from what he was talking about.

The E40 is the first gen 14in" Thinkpad Edge. It depend on what market are you in, for instance in the US the E40 are simply know as 14in Thinkpad edge while in China they use the E40 (I am sure this is also true for a lot of other counties).
What is the ThinkPad Edge E40?
