Hi Guys,
I am going to go ahead and order this beast, but would like to know what is the main diff between the R61 and T61... I see that the T61 is more popular around here but when looking at the Lenovo site, they both look similar to me and the R61 is a little cheaper.
Can someone please help me here so I can decide between the 2
thanks

The R61 is cheaper, thicker, and slightly less sturdy.

The 14" widescreen models are extremely similar, and I believe equally sturdy, there are more differences between the 15" models. The T61p models have more graphics options.

As far as the R61 being sturdy, this video here proves it and same can be said about the T61

R61 is thicker, and a little heavier. The 14" WS has a full magnesium roll cage like the T61; the 15.4" only has a partial (the base, but not the lid/LCD). The difference in thickness and weight is a bit larger on the 15.4" versions of the R61/T61.
The R61, due to its increased thickness, has an option to hold an internal Blu-Ray drive if you're willing to spend the money; this is unavailable on the T61.
The R61 does not have an option for Wireless WAN (that is, wireless over cell phone networks) like the T61; you'd need to use an external Cardbuss or ExpressCard adapter.
The R61 also does not have the option for Wireless Personal Area Network (basically, wireless networking of devices via USB) like the T61.
What is the difference between R61/T61
