i have a thinkpad 600 (not E or X) with 224mb of ram. it has a 32mb, 64mb and a 128mb. i was thinking about upgrading it to its maximum ram buy replacing the 32 and 64mb. help is much appreciated. thanks!

you're saying you have 4 SODIMM slots?? I don't know of any notebook that has that configuration........... I can't see you having 3 SODIMMs in your laptop, a 32 MB stick, 64MB stick and a 128 MB stick.
Check your chipset to see how much memory you can support. -
I think it's 288MB. The 32MB is I believe soldered to the board and not replaceable. It leaves you with two dimm slots. Each one can accept a 128MB stick giving you 288MB in total.

oh yes. i opened it up today and there were 2 slots. 1 was 128mb and other im guessing its 64mb. 32mb wasnt there so im guessing like what ZaZ said...soldered on board.
