Oh yeah speaking of screen resolution: I'd prefer 1280x800 on 12.1". :) Looks perfect for the screen size to me.

My dream ThinkPad shares much in common with others':

-13" 1440x900 matte screen (seems popular); I could deal with 1600x900
    -ULV processor
-More tactile keyboard with oversized escape key (!)
    -Option for no trackpad
    -Flush battery
-Effective, quiet cooling solution (though ULV will not get hot)
-Linux compatible hardware (all Intel satisfies this, as with the T410)

I honestly do not take offense with the screen quality of my T410. Of course I wouldn't complain about having a nicer screen, but it's not particularly important to me. I think that I might just be strange in this respect; I've never really cared about the difference between high definition televisions or 480i CRT televisions either (I only own the latter).

    • 13" matt IPS 4:3 1600x1200
    • Low volt. CPU + integrated GPU
    • 8GB RAM
    • 128GB SSD
    • 9 cell battery (or even bigger)
    • No UltraBay (I prefer bigger battery)
    • Docking station support
    • Linux support: thinkpad-acpi + tp_smapi
    • Build quality like in old, good IBM times
    • Price: Free :D

    Here is mine :
    a. T410s form factor, sleek and svelte enough for me.
    b. 14.1" 16:10 screen with resolution min 1440X900, beter 1680X1050.
    c. Integrated chip is fine with me, mostly for work, seldom for games.
I dont mind with Optimus or whatever hybrid tech etc though.
    d. High quality speakers please? Note : I really like the direction T410 brings, the speaker is louder than R400 and Z61m i ever had.
It just that if only they can make it better in terms of quality. Maybe join-branding with JBL - like what they did in Ideapad?
    e. How about implementing some high quality sound amp like B&O Ice in laptop? Asus did this.
    f. Blue ray drive. Come on, how long this thing will become mainstream in laptops?
    g. 2.5' HDD format. 1.8' is so rare and expensive. Hybrid drive minimum.
    h. Dont touch that hinges! Preferably in silver/metallic, as it is now. It adds a stronger and more rigid appearance on the "black plastic".
    i. Do something with plastic in the palm rest. Sometime it produce cracking sound, presumably because of the contact with the rollcage inside?

I really dont like the argument business vs consumer. Well, to be honest i think many of us using our thinkpad for entertainment purpose right? Whether it is for games, musics, movies etc. I like the idea of Thinkpad to be performed very well in terms of features.

I understand that Lenovo should put distinction between Idea and Think product line. But please do that very carefully. Dont make Think line become too outdated in terms of features. You have better speaker in Ideapad, why cant you put it into Thinkpad?

Some features to be differentiated is OK. Like, i dont mind with the screen, Thinkpad matte-Ideapad glossy is perfect for me. But other features like speaker and dedicated sound amp considered as a basic feature for premium line like Thinkpad, well at least on my opinion :p

I assume Yao Ying Jia and David Hill have same superior/boss who can mix and match between this "pole"?

Oh i just want to add something : it might sound crazy but i really like Edge keyboard. I have been using Edge 13 for a while and the typing experience is great.
