For the operating system on T500, Lenovo offers

Genuine Windows Vista Business downgrade to Windows XP Professional

    What does it exactly mean?

Does it mean the T500 has the same WinXP Pro as usual plus giving customers a DVD with Windows Vista Business?

    Thanks for your input!

    Cheers!

That depends on the notebook, for example my 8510p's Cd key is valid for both XP and Vista. that would apply for the T500 as well if he is getting the Vista Business with Xp downgrade option.

So Johnny T, you're saying that now if you select Vista with the Win XP Downgrade you get XP pre-installed and Vista on DVD/CD?

That was not the case two months ago for my X61 - Vista came pre-installed on the hard disk with an R&R partition, and XP on DVD/CD.

Well I could be wrong. I would at least ask for both sets of recovery discs.
