What kind of ram can I put in T30 (upto 512MB/slot) ? Can I got to any store like newegg, and buy any 512MB notebook memory ?
Also, anyone have a link on how to install the ram ?
I apologise, never opened a laptop before

    I believe it uses PC2100.

So PC4200 or other ram will be incompatible with the laptop ?

Try www.crucial.com, you can match the ram exactly, or at least use the info they provide on ram configuaration to decide what you want to get from elsewhere.

crucial gave me 200 pin SODIMM modules of PC2700.

Will a 200pin SODIMM module of say PC4200 be incompatible ?

Even if PC4200 worked with your T30, your laptop would clock down the speeds of the PC4200 RAM and, therefore, run at PC2700 speeds.

Hmm, thats ok. I was asking purely for price reasons, to expand my potential RAM pool.

Any idea why crucial lists different rams for T30 & T40, when both rams are PC2700 ?

Can I get any PC2700 200pin SODIMM and put it in T30 ?
