Like the topic says. Probably the only 2 things that are easily upgradeable are the RAM and Harddrive. Does upgrading either of these 2 items void the Lenovo warranty?

Upgrading those parts will not void the warranty.

In the hardware guides those are called CRU for customer replaceable units.

There are Factory Replaceable Units such as the motherboard

I've done hard drives, MiniPCI wifi cards, optical drives, and memory--all on several ThinkPads without any problem at all regarding warranty validation.

Like Renee said, those kind of upgrades are replaceable by the customer under the warranty.

If you upgrade the motherboard or CPU it will void warrenty but not if you upgrade RAM or HD

you should be able to do anything short of voiding a warranty seal inside. cpu should have a warranty seal on it.
