Thinkpad 128GB SSD costs about $500 now. What its price will likely be a year after?
I am hoping to buy a X301, but not sure to choose 64GB or 128GB SSD. Obviously the latter is more expensive.
Cheers!

Nobody wants to say something?
EDIT - Please follow the 24 hour bump rule. -
SSD is very expensive now. Only buy it if you have a special purpose or want to build a dreaming laptop.

The model Lenovo currently uses is a 1.8" 128GB Samsung MLC SSD (MMCQE28G8MUP-0VA). You can try to search and see if you can buy it aftermarket.
The issue you will find is that the x301 only supports 1.8" MICRO SATA drives. These are rarely sold by resellers (e.g. Newegg) as most laptops take 2.5" SATA drives. However, ANY 1.8" MICRO-SATA drive you find will work perfectly in the x301 so you are not limited to the Samsung model.
SSDs are roughly expected to follow Moore's law as they are a solid state and transistor based device. As such, capacity should double at a given price, and the price for a given capacity should drop 50% every 12-18 months. However, this is a general rule and may not always apply.
All this being said, I stand by my original recommendation. 64GB is more than big enough as long as you keep your media separate (I use a 64GB 1.8" Samsung SLC drive in my x200T). I recommend you pick up a decent USB HDD (like this 2.5" 400GB USB model for $90) and store media (movies/music) on that. The smaller 2.5" external HDDs are USB powered and you can take it with you if you need the extra space. -
is it possible to fit a regular hard drive into x301?

Did your 64GB SSD come with your x200 from Lenovo? How much space is left when it arrived? I have another thread for this question:

I performed a clean install of Windows 7 RC on the SSD. I also have a wide variety of applications on there (including Office 2007, GIMP, VS 2008, et. al.), 3.25GB of documents, 3.14GB of pictures, and have generally not found space to be a problem. However, I try and keep my large media files on my desktop with about 2TB of storage across five HDDs.
Detailed information about my switch from an HDD to an SSD is outlined in the SSD effects link in my signature. -
I previously owned a Dell XPSM1530 with a 128G SSD drive and it was lightning fast. Also booted up in about half the time as my T500.
When configuring the order, Dell charges $200 to upgrade from a 250gb 7200rpm drive to a Samsung SSD drive.
I really wanted a SSD on my T500 but the extra $450 was way too much.
