exist for what I feel right now.
Just a few minutes ago I noticed a black dot roaming around my LCD. Yea it looked like the famous moving gif image, but no it was not that. There is a little mite or something behind the LCD but right in front of the backlight reflective surface.

Which laptop do you have, if it is new, you could get Lenovo to exchange it for you.

T60 with a used to be untainted IPS panel

Maybe time to consider a LCD swap? Do you have warranty still? Whatever you do, don't squash that bug, other wise you would have a big problem with the discolouration on your lcd from all the guts and other unsightly bits.
-
Hey Kevin, this is actually a pretty common thing to happen. If you do a google search about "insect in lcd" you'll find a lot of results...
One time I saw a page that gave instructions on how to take apart the panel to remove the bug, but i couldn't find that same page right now. If you don't have warranty, I would recommend going that route
Edit: One of the "solutions" i saw before was to turn off the LCD overnight and shine a really bright bulb beside it, to try to lure the bug outside. That suggestion was for desktop LCDs though.. i guess it might not work as well for laptop LCDs since they are smaller and probably better sealed, which is why I'm kind of surprised that it would happen on a laptop in the first place. -
You can take the panel apart of course, but may end with more junk in there if you're not careful.
If you're under warranty you could probably get it replaced. If not maybe it's a good time to swap the panel? It's not hard at all. It took me about 30 minutes as I recall. You could even go up to the UXGA Hydis, which is generally regarded as a better panel than the LG. The LG is known to have worse dimming/yellowing issues than the other FlexView LCDs. There is a mythical Hydis SXGA+, but it's extremely rare and hard to find. -

Yea its pushing 3.5 years now, 3-year warranty expired last Nov. Any part number for that 15" WUXGA?
-
Hahahahaha. I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh Kevin. Your post is pure gold.
-
Lenovo have enabled the option to allow certain models of T60 to have post warranty warranty. Maybe you should consider it, as it will be cheaper than replacing the LCD aftermarket.

13N7076 is the part number for the UXGA LCD.

Talk to Lenovo. My friend had very same situation with his T43. He was told that if the bug is made in China, Lenovo will unconditionally fix it for you, or debug at no cost. If it is made in US, sorry they would not help. You may use a magnifier to identify it. M$ Visual Studio may also help.
-
Haha funny.
-
..... -
what if the bug is made in Korea?
-
You have to use the Korean version of Visual Studio or something similar to DEBUG.
-
I just hope when you debug it, you don't get feelers pointing to null. Oh sorry, that's pointers, not feelers.
-
And you didn't take a picture of this? Very disappointing.

What? I don't get this... -
Yeah, make a screenshot for us
But that thing with intensely bright light near lcd, lets say from its side and not front could make that little fella attracted to it. -

Urge to kill/punch screen was too high.
If I see it tonight (hope I dont) I will grab a picture. I have it sitting open in my bedroom next to my pulled shades with the edge of the screen sitting in the sunlight. Hoping whatever it is moves towards the light and either dies or comes out, out of the view of the LCD. -

Going back to the topic, did you manage to get it out?
