    Hey guys,
I only got my laptop with a gig of ram. I need to upgrade... I have a t61. Just got it a month ago if it matters. Do i need the 5300 one? Also how many slots come in it? Lastly does the laptop come with a 1gb card or 2 512 mb cards? Thanks

goto crucial.com and click on the system scanner and see what it tells you. i'm pretty sure you have two slots and more than likely your laptop will take up to 4 gigs of ram. you have to open it up or let the scanner tell you what you have.

You will need to get DDR2-667(PC2-5300/5400) So-dimm.

Check out the ram deals thread and you probably have 2 sticks of 512mb...most manufacturers do it like that but you can check with CPU-Z(google for dl link or get the windows forum sticky).

To see/use all of 4GB, you will need a 64-bit OS.
