I recently decided to remove my battery and place it in a ziplocked bag in the refrigeration. However, I'm worried about the battery socket that's left uncovered. Will it damage it? Any tips to keep it clean?

If you're concerned, place a piece of that blue masking tape over the opening to prevent anything from getting inside. The blue masking tape is pretty good for this purpose as it doesn't leave any residue when it's removed.
