    What wireless cards are available for IBM T40?

    Hello,

    I recently bought a T40 from eBay. After I received the laptop, I realized that my laptop does not have wireless card even though I have atenna. I heard that I can buy wireless from eBay or something. But I seen posts where people are having difficult time connecting wireless using Intel's wireless card. Is that true? Also, what cards are available for this T40? Can you recommend me any third party card?

    A lot will depend on whether you have the internal antenna for WiFI which not all T40s do.

    How do I know if I have WI-FI or not? I have T40 2737 and it says wireless upgradable. Please help...

    do u mean 2373? you can buy a wireless adapter card and stick it into the pc card slot and you'll be good to go. install stuff off the netgear cd that comes with the cd. Then press Fn F5 and use IBM Access connections, it's a better wireless utility than the windoze junk.

    My bad, was thinking of the bluetooth antenna. All T40s will have the wireless antenna. I had no issues with the Intel card on my T42 nor the others I have seen. The service manual will explain the procedure. You might have to update the bios. Good Luck.
