Okay, so basically my sister gave me her old T60 Thinkpad for me to use at law school. I love the size of the monitor and I especially love the keyboard (I stayed away from laptops for so long because I usually hate typing on them, but the thinkpad keyboard is amazing).

The problem is the T60 is a little outdated, so I wanted to know what type of Lenovo ThinkPad would come closest in terms of screen, keyboard, and general size to that of my old T60?

What is the screen size and resolution of your T60? Did it have a FlexView (IPS) LCD panel? If your ThinkPad had an IPS screen, you're out of luck as no one makes laptops with FlexView anymore. The model after the T60 is the T61. The model after the T61 is the T400 and T500.

Well the update to the T60 was the T61. So you could probably get some coupons and use it on that.

Most applications will never push your CPU enough so you'd notice a difference. If you want a performance boost, a faster hard drive and/or more memory are usually good places to start looking.
