This is my 2nd day with the T400 and the file size has exploded to 40G (I did a Vista shrink of roughly 40G, so the disk looks like 59G Free/99G). I didn't install anything big on that disk and certainly no big files cuz I still want to partition it. The program files come with 2.6G and Windows roughly 5G and SWtools 1G. The properties said C has files of 16G. Where is the rest After 1 R&R recovery, something mysteriously took another 5G.
Did any of you have a unusally big C:? I'm so confused.
ps:
I did a check with JDiskreport. It said there are 19G files on C. Aconis said there were 40G when I was trying to do partition.

Vista does something called Volume Shadow CopyGoogle it.
-
I've closed it
Thank you very much. It turns out it will take 15% of the drive, which is approximately 20G...
Since I have R&R, I don't think this is really necessary. -
Depends. Shadow copies allow you to very easily restore previous versions of a file. For example, if you created a document/file yesterday, then changed it today, you could easily restore the document/file from yesterday if needed—or, for that matter, any file on your HD from over a period of over a week or two.
What's taken up T400 disk C:?
