    What's the "security screw" for?

    My Z61M came with a spare screw in a plastic bag. It is described as "security screw" on the packing label. Any idea what's that for? There's no mention of it in the manual, etc. Thanks!

    Do you have a removable/swappable optical drive? Maybe it prevents the optical drive from being removed from the system when it's screwed in?

    Anyone else have a clue?

    Looks like it because I found a "missing" screw at the bottom near the optical drive. But what laptop thief will only steal the optical drive and not the whole laptop? :confused:

    Security to secure it in the laptop, not to secure from thieves.

    It's to keep the optical drive in the laptop.
