About to get one soon, and wonder which case would be good. I don't want to spend more than $50 at the very most, $30-50 range, really. No need for a professional look, just something classy...like black nylon is just fine. Preferably a messenger bag or shoulder bag, no backpacks.

Are there ones made for 14" widescreen notebooks? That would be ideal, I suppose. The ThinkPad Nylon Case looks good, but doesn't list the Z as a model it accomodates nicely (just T, R, and X, I believe...it looks to be released before the Z was made). Will that suffice? Also looking at the ThinkPad Expander case. Which is the better between the two, or should I go third party?

I want to protect the investment =) Thanks!

I personally just use a backpack. Did you try eBags?
