I'm currently looking at the X60 series thinkpads and am wondering which one of these is the better deal? One has a 60gig HDD vs 40 but my main question is what's the difference between the Duo Core processors? They are the same speed (1.66) but have different model #'s. Any ideas or opinions on if it's worth the extra $100 for 20more gigs and the different processor model? T1300 vs T2300??

Well, the last one has a larger HD (60GB), a core duo cpu, and a fingerprint reader. The first one has a 40GB HD, a core solo cpu, and no fingerprint reader.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious cvec7... I thought both were core duo's... Which is what I want. Guess the 2nd one would be a much better deal with those additional features! Sure is tempting.. Can't find these on ebay like the dells but oh well I can get a decent deal on the lenovos using my contrator purchase program. This brings me to my next question. What's the difference between the Core Duo T2300 1.66 vs the L2400 1.66 core duo?

Nevermind, I found out the L just means lower power consumption.

Definitely worth the extra $100. I would recommend a bigger harddrive if you can spring for the spare change.

T1xxx are solo processor...T2xxx are duo processors...Lxxx series cpu are ULV or LV (im not sure which one) cpu, which uses less power so offers more battery life
