Just got a T450 and I've noticed that the laptop fan kicks in at 3100rpm any time the laptop reaches 50 degrees and then switch to 0 degrees once around 45ish. Is this how it should be? I've previously used a T450s and I sure the fan on that used to kick in at only 2000rpm. Maybe I have a newer bios?

You can install the third party software TPFanControl to control the setup of the fan.
