I was gonna wait till June to buy the X220, but recently I was hired for a job which will require me to acquire a new laptop to replace my netbook ASAP.

I'm looking at one of the base i5 models with IPS but no frills. The base model tablet would be a good alternative as well.

My heart is already set on the X220. I know the official release date is April 19 according to Lenovo, but it seems some e-tailers have been shipping them already.

That said, what would be the quickest, sure-fire way to get a X220 (come the 19th)? Cheapest would also be great ;) (coupon codes anyone?)

I can buy in Canada or US (have US address).

Wait until the 19th. Patience will be worth it unless your new job is a life and death situation where you need a laptop ASAP.

You can also rent one from Best Buy because they no longer have restocking fee on computers so you have 14 days to try and return lol

It ain't life and death fortunately. :)

What's the advantage of waiting for the 19th, instead of buying from Costcentral/Provantage, etc.?

The key is the coupon codes, I really want those buggers to drive the cost down ;)
