When will IBM release Vista drivers and apps for the T60 and other models?

Unlike most laptops I've come across in the past 8 years of my IT career, almost everything that came pre-loaded on this laptop I have found to be between fairly and extremely useful. I don't think I've uinstalled anything.

Due to the MS Action Pack and consulting partner registration I have with Microsoft, I have more or less unlimited access to Microsoft's entire business-oriented product suite, and thus have had my hands on the various release candidates of Vista for quite some time and will get a legit copy of Vista ultimate edition as soon as it comes out as well.

Where my concern lies is, obviously when Vista comes out, Lenovo/IBM will begin shipping laptops with it installed and will have the appropriate drivers. They'll probably be making the T60, still, at that point.

But I'm sure I also will have some hardware on my T60 that has been changed or no longer in use for T60 builds by the time Vista comes out.

So my question is more or less, how long after/before Vista's public release do you think IBM/Lenovo will take to release fully validated, tested, and supported drivers and OEM applications for Vista for the models that were sold pre-Vista? Not just the T60 per se, but all the other models...
Do they have a policy on how far back they will release drivers for dated hardware? Like what about the guy who bought a Thinkpad when XP was still new? Granted he probably doesn't want to be running Vista anyway due to barely meeting the minimum requirements... but still, what if he wanted to? :D

I'm sure there are already Vista drivers somewhere out there for most/all of the stuff on my Thinkpad - but I doubt they're supported/validated, yet. Right?

By the way, off topic, but I remember about 7 years ago considering a Sony Laptop purchase only to be told Sony didn't release updated drivers for new OS releases that came out after a model of laptop was discontinued. And a lot of their hardware and pre-installed apps were very proprietary. Is that still the case or have they gotten better about this? Way back then I even called Sony pre-sales support to verify this and the a-hole on the other end started stuttering and then just hung up on me instead of saying they did or didn't... lol

If I had to guess, they're working on those things right now so they can pre-load them when Vista starts shipping on new computers.
