I'm interested in knowing where some of you guys got your Lenovo notebooks. I was thinking that their official site would be best and cheapest but apparently this is not the case. I've heard of some shipping problems associated with some newer Thinkpads, which ones specifically and is it just when ordering from the official site that problems occur? What are some good sites to buy notebooks from safely and without problems? Lastly, this may be a dumb question but does Lenovo offer a "Back to School" sale each year? If so, does anyone know when exactly this sale starts(or around when it starts)? Any answers would help me tremendously, thanks.

If you are looking at they 2623D6U, it is as cheap as you will find it on the internet when you factor in the extra memory you'll get. Combinded with the return policy, it seems like a no brainer. I always kinda like Buy.com. They have a 30 return policy unless otherwise marked on the page. I don't recall a back to school sale, but I wasn't really looking. Good Luck.

The sale Lenovo has going on right now is called the Back to School Sale. The model ZaZ mentions is one of the ones on sale. There are others as well.
You can also get the RAM upgrade, which makes the offer even better. It ends on 7/31, I think.

Thanks, I actually was looking at the 2623D6U. That and the T60p. Also, about the sale, do you know if it goes on every year and when it starts each year? Parents looking to buy my brother a notebook for college as well and if they'd like to take advatage of the back to school sale but aren't sure if they will be able to next year.

I don't know if Lenovo has this particular sale every year, but based on how most companies operate I would guess that every year some time in late July or early August they are going to have a "Back to School Sale" or something of the sort.

They also offer rebates every once in a while. Just have to keep checking the site.

If he doesn't need it til next year, he should wait til then no matter WHAT the price now... whatever you buy now it'll be worth half or less in a year because the technology moves forward so fast that today's stuff will be semi-obsolete in a year.
