I have a new X201. I am in the UK

I am going sailing and would like to charge the Thinkpad from the "cigarette lighter" on the boat. Is there a reliable source for charging cable? What should I Google or search for on eBay?

I bought the 9 cell battery that does last for hours. I would like a 2nd small battery. Should I buy from Lenovo or are the generic battery resellers just the same?

    Thanks

One simple way is to use your normal AC adapter, but plug that into an AC inverter (which plugs into the DC cigarette lighter). An inverter can be found for quite cheap, but make sure it supports at least 60W (your X201's power adapter wattage).

Regarding batteries, I've heard of many people getting batteries from other sources, including eBay. I know jonlumpkin had a good site that he bought from a while back.

i can only reccomend buying original batteries!

i used to buy used ones in good condition thats where you can save most bucks ;)

got my x60s 9cell with full capacity from uk shipped to germany for around 30€.

that's why buying replacements (and regarding lifetime the original ones are keeping up their capacity longer then "fakes") ;)

Lenovo makes an adapter that works with AC/DC, I got one used on ebay for under $20, but I think lenovo sells them for about $100. I'm not sure what is available in the UK. I also bought a cheap generic AC adapter. They are probably ok to use if you have a good charged battery in the laptop, but keep an eye on it if you get one, don't even leave it running when your not watching it. These cheap adapters can get hot, even to the point of catching on fire if you're not careful.
