I have a Y510P SLI model and I would like to get a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive but I cant seem to find one anywhere. Does anybody know where to get an Ultrabay drive or an aftermarket drive that is compatible?

I don't think they ever sold them separately for the y510p but if you can find one for the Y500 it should work.

Thanks for the info and links, that is expensive. I guess I will look for a Y500 drive. Very frustrating that these Ultrabay parts do not exist.

I hear you. I've made a strategic mistake of buying a non-SLI y510p, thinking I'll be able to buy a GT55M Ultrabay at my later leisure, that was back in September 2013. Come May 2014, they finally made them available, and it cost me 350$ for the GPU ultrabay+170w adapter because Lenovo US doesn't deliver stuff to EU, so I had to go through a ( very much more expensive ) third party deal.

Good luck in your search, and to anyone else stumbling upon on this thread - if you want your GT755M or optical drive Ultrabays - get them as soon as f*cking possible before they become vaporware. y510p ( SLI version ) might be decent for gaming for the next 3-4 years ( and more for office work ), but the support for said laptop and accessories will probably be nonexistential by the end of this year. I've extended my budget and bought everything I ever might possibly need for my y510p so that I'm safe until the end of my laptops ( hopefully long ) timespan. The joy of using products from a rapidly fast-forward moving industry...

Yeah, Lenovo really messed up with their ultrabay support for the y510p. I bought dual-SLI 750m version last October and looked around for the DVD drive. Lucky for me, they made some available and I got one for 79.99 (crazy expensive for just an internal dvd drive). I then proceeded to look for hard drive ultrabay, and it was ridiculously expensive. I ended up getting this one: 2nd HDD SSD Hard Drive Caddy for Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 Y500N Y510P | eBay from ebay and the plastic front plate actually fits well with the y510p (and probably the y500).

I have been hoping to buy the specific parts to build myself an ultrabay blu-ray drive, but it looks like I will have to swap out the dvd drive with a 9.5mm blu-ray drive (which also cost a fortune).
