Where can I purchase a 7200RPM IDE non-SATA HD for my Thinkpad R32?

It seems no stores carry the old 2.5" IDE laptop hard drives that run 7200RPM anymore. They are all 5400 or 4200. I'm looking to upgrade the OEM hitachi drive, hopefully with another hitachi (model 7K60??).

Any hard drive recommendations? or where I can purchase one?

Its for an IBM Thinkpad R32 laptop.

With the predominance of SATA over PATA, the 7200 rpm PATA (IDE) laptop drive market is all but gone. Looking at Newegg.com they have NO 7200rpm PATA laptop drives.

The fastest ATA drive is a Samsung HM160HC. It's 5400rpm drive with 160GB on one platter. It's faster than Seagate 7200.1 or Hitachi 7K100. Check the thread in my signature for the benchmarks.

Toms is pretty reliable when it comes to charts. look here and see if you can find one of these ATA drives from this chart.

Unfortunately Tom hasn't tested the Samsung HM160HC. I did. The HM160HC beats the 7200rpm drives because of the higher data density.

hey, thanks again for the info. I might just have to go with this 5400 RPM drive after all.
