Now that system update is gone and I did a clean install - I can no longer watch dvds on my laptop. Wm11 can't find the right codec so I'm out. Where can I download windvd so that I can watch dvds again or where can I find the codec for wm11?

You can go here for WinDVD

And you can use this for Windows Media Player 11

Thanks, that WinDVD is not free though....thanks for the wm links!

The original WinDVD program was in some Lenovo folder on the default preload installation. If you did not save that folder, then it should still be on your recovery discs (and I hope you made those discs). Unfortunately, that would overwrite your current Windows installation. The included WinDVD is an old version anyway, so think about getting a newer version or another program.
Also, Microsoft is supposed to have included a DVD decoder on Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. -
