    Where is the 9 cell battery option for T series?

    I was about to buy a T61 and surprisingly found there is no 9 cell battery option... Is this gonna be temporary?

    battery shortages... I talked to Lenovo today. They're the reason why my notebook has not shipped yet. i'm switching to a 6 cell

    Really? So you order a thinkpad w/ 9 cell but it can't be shipped because Lenovo is running out of 9 cell?

    Did Lenovo tell how long we should wait for 9 cell?

    What is odd is that you can still buy the 9 cell on lenovo's site as an accessory, with a shipping time of 1-2 days. I guess there's a much smaller subset of people who would pay $180 as opposed to $70? Just seems strange, given the "shortage."

    In Canada, on the accessory page for the 9-cell, they quoted me Greater than 4 weeks as my ship time. Might be a system glitch, as lenovo is now famous for them =)

    There was a fire in a Taiwanese warehouse (operated by LG), that has been causing the major shortages all over the market for those batteries. It might be until the summertime till it comes back.

    I'm awaiting a shipment that is supposedly waiting due to a 9-cell battery too. What's strange is that I'm seeing others with orders placed later than mine and supposedly with a 9-cell battery already shipped and delivered.

    i got mine 4/22 ordered 4/14 my est date was 5/16.
    i spoke to thme and they said 9 cell was on hold not in stock(world wide)
    But i got it really fast like i said.

    I received 2 t61 with 9-cell

    I ordered a T61p with 9 cell battery on 4/5/08, estimated ship is 5/27.

    EDIT: Got shipping notification today -- yea!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!

    I just got mine yesterday. I ordered the 9 cell, and had to wait a few weeks for it. My ESD was 4/24, and it was shipped out 4/18.

    seems like the people that have called regarding their orders have received their laptops sooner no? maybe i should call :eek:

    edit:

    called to check the status, and was told my t61p (est. ship date 5/9) will ship during the week of 4/28.
