    Hello,

I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Where is the setting to notify a user that they are using a 90W instead of the 135W power supply, and the machine will run in degraded mode?

I thought there was a setting for this notification in the BIOS or Windows 7 power management settings but I don't see it.

Is it automatic or can it be turned off?

Don't know of a notification option but in Power Manager it tells you the AC adapter wattage you are using.

I doubt it. I guess is that the power manager reads it from the power supply probably WMI.

I just ran some tests. It used to be that the W510 would complain via a message that you are on a 90W power supply. It no longer does.

When did that get dropped? It's actually a good feature/notification for "stupid" users.

    Halobox,

What kind of message? Was it a messagebox from code?

I don't really recall where and under what circumstances. I just know now it's gone.

I'll check with our support folks and see if they know.

If someone comes up with something, chime in.
