I cant find it although I replied to that thread.
It was the thread with the direct link to the t61p and the e-coupon.

Well, I guess the reason would be that the thread was displaying backdoor attempts to gain access to the configurations currently unavailable on the Lenovo ordering pages.
It's called cheating (by providing unauthorized access.)

    Go to Techbargains.com
Enter "lenovo" in the search box
The results page has a hyperlink under Aug 20 2007
When clicked, this link takes you to the Realtor's lenovo page with discount, etc

No mention of the T61p link...
You can't access it by going straight through the realtor's page. :)

    Nope. It's all legit.
But the T61p and 14" SXGA+ configurations could be another story. Who knows...

Always another day. Always another deal.

That link (for the 'p') was there earlier in the day. Seems the various models' availability changes regularly, even on the main site.

Probably an issue with the fact that the deal is intended for NAR members, and the vast majority of the people taking advantage of the deal have nothing to do with NAR, they are just using the link.

Personally, I'm gonna wait for an NRA deal before I pull the trigger!

    Okay, that was lame. Sorry!

I didn't mean it isn't legit. I just meant with this being posted on places like techbargains I would think that a sudden (probably large) influx of NRA orders + T61ps will be noticed and cancelled.

Well, the T61p link hasn't been posted on Fatwallet and Slickdeals, the real powerhouses of the bargain hunting industry.
And the link itself was quite glitchy, so I woud assume that only a relatively small number of people was actually able to place the T61p orders before the links have been taking off.
    We'll see...

It wasn't even a great deal.

    They had better deals before.

It was a "GREAT" deal, since it allowed to order the currently unavailable from Lenovo configurations (T61p, 14" SXGA+ screens), at the prices bettering EPP discounts.

Lenovo has a huge backlog on the 15.4" screen that they can't fill, nearly two months behind now and the future is not looking any better (per mgt at lenovo.)

You cannot order them right now. No predictions exist for even when the current backlog of orders will be filled, much less when new orders will be accepted, and predictions from Lenovo CS for when a new order could be filled are completely unavailable. You might as well ask a feces throwing monkey about the next generation space shuttle design.

If you need it anytime in the near future or need reliable delivery estimates, forget the Lenovo and start looking at companies like HP, Dell and Asus who have comparable machines, stock and realistic delivery estimates.

Oh please, your Lenovo bashing is getting so old at this point no one cares. Lenovo has been quickly filling a lot of the orders lately.
