I just bought a new SSD for my Thinkpad T510. I did not know it is so thin that I have to stuff something to make it stable in the caddy.
I did some research and it appears that I need to buy 9.5mm adapter. Is this correct?
If yes, where to buy the adapter? I searched the ebay for it, and it did not show up any results I want.
Thanks for any input!
Cheers.

These might do it. New Original 7 0mm SSD Spacer Rails Rail 04W1717 for ThinkPad Solid State Drive | eBay
If not, the free way would be to wrap a couple layers of electrical tape around the drive until it fits snug.MDDZ likes this. -
I already have it for my 9.5mm SSD.
Does the spacer rails you mentioned make the SSD have enough space enough so that its contact to the computer is just right?
Cheers. -
I can't say. There is an FRU number so you may be able to look that up to find more specific information.
Many SSD's also include a plastic spacer screwed on to the drive making it 9.5mm. Removing it makes it 7mm. Maybe you could find one of those spacers that would fit your drive?MDDZ likes this. -
Thanks a lot for your info.
Have a great holiday!
