    Hi all,

Regarding my another post just now, I am considering trying to fix the fan by replacing the thermal pad. But I can't find a proper place to buy T43 compatible thermal pad elsewhere. Does anyone here know where I should buy it by any chance?

    Help is very appreciated!

maybe you should post this at the marketplace on forum.thinkpads.com and see whether anyone of the member there could offer you one for a reasonable price.

you mean thermal paste right? The thing that goes in between the cpu and cooler.

Nope. I actually meant thermal pad. I have applied ArcticSilver MX-III thermal paste between CPU and the cooler. The thermal pad is for the GPU which, unfortunately, has a gap with the base of the heatsink. If not that a thermal pad is used as a spacer, I'd already put the SilverArctic on my GPU.

Um...I don't really know to thickness. I didn't measure it before I cleaned the remnant off...

Would anyone happen to know or have the data?

Check the distance you have between the components, I´d say 1,5-2x that distance is the correct thickness, assuming it is spongy and soft.
